PBS Front and Center
December 16th at the Iridium

The group now known as the Arctic 30 are 28 Greenpeace activists and two journalists who sailed to the icy waters of the Pechora Sea this September to peacefully protest reckless Arctic oil drilling. After trying to hang a banner on an off-shore oil rig, the 30 and their ship Arctic Sunrise were seized at gunpoint by the Russian Coast Guard. They were held under armed guard for four days as the ship was towed to port, then locked up in grim detention centers and charged with piracy and hooliganism. Though the Arctic 30 have now been granted bail, they remain charged with hooliganism and face up to 7 years in Russian prison.

Far from being hooligans, the team on the Sunrise risked their liberty to take peaceful action in defense of the Arctic, the earth and all of us. Already a powerful movement is calling for the Arctic 30 to be released, including several heads of state, influential voices from Sir Paul McCartney and Desmond Tutu to Madonna (to name a few), and over 2.5 million people - but they still need our support to secure their freedom and to protect the fragile Arctic.

alt-J will be playing an intimate show at Iridium in New York City on December 16th for a taping of PBS Front And Center. To show their support for the Arctic 30, they will be giving away 1 pair of tickets for each of the Arctic 30. Enter your email address below to enter for a chance to win.
